CVE-2025-21817

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: timers/migration: Fix livelock in tmigr_handle_remote_up() tmigr_handle_remote_cpu() skips timer_expire_remote() when cpu == smp_processor_id(), assuming the local softirq path already handled this CPU's timers. This assumption is wrong because jiffies can advance after the handling of the CPU's global timers in run_timer_base(BASE_GLOBAL) and before tmigr_handle_remote() evaluates the expiry times. As a consequence a timer which expires after the CPU local timer wheel advanced and becomes expired in the remote handling is ignored and the callback is never invoked and removed from the timer wheel. What's worse is that fetch_next_timer_interrupt_remote() keeps reporting it as expired, and the event is re-queued with expires == now on each iteration. The goto-again loop spins indefinitely. Fix this by calling timer_expire_remote() unconditionally. That's minimal overhead for the common case as __run_timer_base() returns immediately if there is nothing to expire in the local wheel. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: block: fix queue freeze vs limits lock order in sysfs store methods queue_attr_store() always freezes a device queue before calling the attribute store operation. For attributes that control queue limits, the store operation will also lock the queue limits with a call to queue_limits_start_update(). However, some drivers (e.g. SCSI sd) may need to issue commands to a device to obtain limit values from the hardware with the queue limits locked. This creates a potential ABBA deadlock situation if a user attempts to modify a limit (thus freezing the device queue) while the device driver starts a revalidation of the device queue limits. Avoid such deadlock by not freezing the queue before calling the ->store_limit() method in struct queue_sysfs_entry and instead use the queue_limits_commit_update_frozen helper to freeze the queue after taking the limits lock. This also removes taking the sysfs lock for the store_limit method as it doesn't protect anything here, but creates even more nesting. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: mscc: ocelot: add missing lock protection in ocelot_port_xmit_inj() ocelot_port_xmit_inj() calls ocelot_can_inject() and ocelot_port_inject_frame() without holding the injection group lock. Both functions contain lockdep_assert_held() for the injection lock, and the correct caller felix_port_deferred_xmit() properly acquires the lock using ocelot_lock_inj_grp() before calling these functions. Add ocelot_lock_inj_grp()/ocelot_unlock_inj_grp() around the register injection path to fix the missing lock protection. The FDMA path is not affected as it uses its own locking mechanism.

An issue was discovered in PyTorch v2.5 and v2.7.1. Omission of profiler.stop() can cause torch.profiler.profile (PythonTracer) to crash or hang during finalization, leading to a Denial of Service (DoS).

The out: path in __get_huge_page_for_hwpoison() calls folio_put() to drop the GUP reference while the hugetlb_lock is still held by the hugetlb.c wrapper get_huge_page_for_hwpoison(). If concurrent unmap has released the page table mapping reference, folio_put() drops the folio refcount to zero, triggering free_huge_folio() which attempts to re-acquire the non-recursive hugetlb_lock. Fix this by moving hugetlb_lock acquisition from the hugetlb.c wrapper into get_huge_page_for_hwpoison(). In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: psp: check for device unregister when creating assoc psp_assoc_device_get_locked() obtains a psp_dev reference via psp_dev_get_for_sock() (which uses psp_dev_tryget() under RCU); it then acquires psd->lock and drops the reference. Before the lock is taken, psp_dev_unregister() can run to completion: take psd->lock, clear out state, unlock, drop the registration reference. The expectation is that the lock prevents device unregistration, but much like with netdevs special care has to be taken when "upgrading" a reference to a locked device. Add the missing check if device is still alive. psp_dev_is_registered() exists already but had no callers, which makes me wonder if I either forgot to add this or lost the check during refactoring...
